Nancy's Story
Life
After graduating from St. JosephÂs high school in 1967 I went to work for Mercy Hospital in Denver. I wanted to live by the ocean so moved to San Francisco, CA in 1969 and landed a job with Pan American Airlines. I married Jim Stone in California and we had our daughter (Janine) in California and our son (Brian) was born in Colorado 18 months later. We moved back to Colorado in 1971 to be closer to our families. Tragically, my husband passed away at the age of 35 years old after 15-years of marriage. Four years later I met a research scientist while working at the CU Health Sciences Center. e towards a Computer Science degree. I am currently an Executive Secretary for a Denver based engineering firm. I have six PERFECT grandchildren ranging from the ages of 13 Â 1. I am a truly blessed person to be so lucky.
I began competitively running in the mid-seventies and completed four marathons, 1 biathlon and the Mount Evans Trophy Run (15 miles to the top of 14,465 ft). I still love the outdoors and enjoy a variety of sports (i.e., run, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, hiking, camping and fishing.) I love to travel and have been to almost every state in the Union. I was fortunate to visit Hawaii three times and it was breathtaking. I have also reconnected with some very dear friends from the past which is just wonderful.
